CONGRATULATIONS MARATHONERS!!!

WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR MARATHON TRAINING TEAM!!!  OUR 7 MARATHONERS ROCKED THE PITTSBURGH MARATHON ON SUNDAY MAY 3RD!!!  4 OF OUR 7 RUNNERS QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON!!!  AND 5 OUT OF OUR 7 RUNNERS BROKE NEW PERSONAL RECORDS!!!  WAY TO GO!!!

Here are the details:

In our marathon training program – less is more – all of our runners trained smart, trained hard, and trained less than the “traditional” miles upon miles marathon training programs.  All of our runners never ran longer than one 15 mile run!  And they trained on average only 6 hours per week! 

Here are the results from the Pittsburgh Marathon:

Doug Harmon (“Dougie Fresh”) ran an amazing 3:13:02 and QUALIFIED FOR THE BOSTON MARATHON!!! – and this was Doug’s FIRST marathon ever!  When Doug came to us in January of this year – he had never run more than a 10K!!! 

Stacy Kopchak (“Ultra Girl”) QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON with a time of 3:20:31 – this beat her previous PR by 9 minutes!  She finished 6th in her division!  Stacy has been running for ONLY 2  1/2 years and says this is the best she has ever felt during and after her race.

Lori Gallon (“The Beast”) QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON with a time of 3:49:15 – This was only her second Marathon ever!  She beat her previous marathon time by 25 minutes!  Lori recovered so quickly after her race that she was running North Park the Tuesday after the marathon!

Janine Marcoux (“J9”) QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON with a time of 3:50:00.  This is J9’s second year training with us after previously training the old (Hal Higdon) way and has had amazing results with RAW Training and says she will never go back to the old way. 

Cyndie DeLucia (“DALOOSH”) finished with a NEW PERSONAL RECORD time of 4:21:18.  Cyndie has done several marathons in the past and always had injuries to deal with in her miles upon miles of training and always ended up very sore following her races.  Well, Cyndie beat her previous PR by 13 minutes, remained injury free throughout the training and felt great afterwards – NO SORENESS!

Caroline Monteleone (“Lil Tiger”) finished with a time of 4:32:45.  This time is a NEW PERSONAL RECORD for her which beat her previous PR by 45 minutes!  Yes you read that right . . . beat her previous marathon time by 45 minutes!!!

Lisa Simakas (“Brick House”) finished with a time of 4:33:13.  She ran a solid race, finished very strong, and was even playing tennis the very next day!!!

Great job to our marathoners – we are so very proud of you and loved working with each and every one of you!  Thank you for your hard work and dedication and for stepping “out of the box” and trusting RAW Training with your marathon training program.
